Glossy Hair!

Ah, the life of a toddler…  Last night, I’m sitting in front of the TV waiting patiently for Desperate Housewives to start (having just put L.A. Toddler to bed for the second time.) And I’m feeling pretty confident that I’ll be able to watch my show uninterrupted, when — what do you know? We hear a little noise in the hallway.  L.A. Daddy gets up to put her back in bed and instead, I hear “Honey, you’ve got to see this!”

I zip round the corner to find my sweet baby girl has smeared lip gloss all over her lips. And her cheeks. And her forehead. Oh, and the palms and backs of both hands… But the “highlight” of all her handiwork? She’s got glossy pink stripes in her hair!  She’s holding both hands up in the air and has a look of bewilderment on her face.

L.A. Daddy makes a valiant effort wiping some of the gloss off her face and then conveniently disappears. So, I get her back in the bathtub and am lathering as fast and thoroughly as I can.  L.A. Toddler is still bewildered - and now annoyed because the color of the lip gloss is coming off but the gluey sticky yucky part is stuck in there real good.  3 shampoos later and 2 different kinds of face soap and one makeup remover and she’s… presentable again.  Or so we think.
This morning I had to put her hair up because it’s so gluey.  Any tips on getting lip gloss out of hair would be greatly appreciated!
