I have to say that reading your thoughts gave me a different view point, but it doesn't fit with my perspective. Living in a medium sized town in Kansas, I have no commute. My kids go to school when it's still dark. I (barely) see kids waiting in the dark for the bus. I get up at 5am and turn on lights. I leave by 6:30 when my family gets up using the lights. IF my husband works in the day, the lights go out an hour later. If not, he keeps them on all day because he hates to open the drapes.

We get home late, so we put the lights on right away. Lights on all the time. SO, honestly that is NO different. I just can't seem to get the kids to wake up with no sun and I can't get them to bed WITH the sun. At least the sun will be up earlier in a few months.
