Matchy-matchy!

I’ve noticed a new trend and it’s starting to freak me out.
Let me begin with a little background. I’ve never been a girly-girl. Never wanted to really do everything my girlfriends do. Never claimed to be best friends with my mom or share clothes herher or any of that.
Yet somehow I’m scared that I’m turning LA Toddler into a… “Mini-me”, of sorts.
Lately I’ve noticed that our outfits… coordinate. Like, every day. Let me repeat that… we coordinate. We’re not wearing the exact same outfit (good god no…) It’s more like I’m wearing black pants and a plum colored shirt and she’s wearing black and pink. Or I’m in brown and aqua and she’s in brown and orange.
Am I headed into some sort of Stepford abyss? Or is this just my active subconscious? Should I be worried? I’m actually thinking it would be cute for our Christmas cards if we’re all dressed similarly… but we don’t send pictures of us on our cards so where is that coming from?! I’ve always thought that I’d be good at letting her choose her own ‘style’… but how can you really do that with a 2 ½ year old?
I’ve noticed that even if I give her two outfits to choose from… she chooses the one that coordinates with what I’m wearing. And sometimes I think this might actually be a good thing –- I mean how many times have I nagged L.A. Daddy “you’re dressed like we’re going to two different events” because he’s in something completely more casual or more dressy than what I’m wearing?
Argh… what to do?!

OK, I so hear ya- the matchy match freaks me out too! We were at the pumpkin patch in the OC beforre Halloween and there was a whole family where the mom and daughter matched and the son and dad- and they all had on these matching Halloween hat things… it freaked me out! I so never want to be that parent!
