Brunch at the Farmers Market
Published September 17th, 2006 in La-La Land, Yummy Goodness.
I managed to pull L.A. Daddy away from football long enough to drag the family to the Farmers Market for brunch. L.A. Toddler got to experience crepes for the first time (Verdict? Thumbs down on the Banana crepe with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and powdered sugar… On Monday we’re going to conduct a DNA test to determine if she really is my daughter.) I had a strawberry crepe which literally melted in my mouth (and melted right into my thighs… yeah, I could actually feel it happening.)
The Farmers Market has been around since 1934, on the corner of Third and Fairfax in Los Angeles. It’s a popular tourist spot with a rich history - an open air market combined with excellent restaurants. We ate at, naturally, the French Crepe Company. How good is it? I once took a co-worker who was originally from France there - she was bowled over (”If I close my eyes, eat eeze like I yam back in Par-ee!” Or something like that…)
After brunch, we strolled The Grove - which is basically an outdoor upscale (re: snooty) shopping center - and window shopped until it got unbearably hot. Oh, how I long for the cooler Fall weather (which usually comes in L.A. around late December or early January) so I can bear to be outdoors once again!

p.s. Thanks to the fabulous server who noticed us standing in the looong line and took us to one of her tables. Who says people stop being polite once you’re not pregnant anymore???
